Hundreds Without Power Following Rounds Of Severe Storms

As hundreds remained without power following severe storms that swept through the area late Tuesday afternoon and evening, a crash that initially blocked a lane causing gridlock on I-95 Wednesday morning.

About 400 are without power in New Canaan as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to Eversource. The next-hardest hit municipality, Norwalk, now has just over 100 customers still in the dark. There are 21 customers without power in Wilton and 15 in Darien.

The I-95 crash occurred southbound at Atlantic Street in Stamford, with the delays lasting through the morning commute.

Route 106 in Wilton is closed between Ridgefield Road and Belden Hill Road due to fallen power cables.
